On May 7, 2018, the Asia-Pacific Intelligent Transportation Association Council voted on the right to host the 2022 Intelligent Transportation World Congress in Fukuoka, Japan, and determined the host city of the conference. The three cities of Suzhou, Seoul, and Taipei participated in the competition. After submitting bidding intentions, on-site inspections, and on-site defense procedures, Suzhou stood out and successfully won the right to host the 2022 Intelligent Transportation World Conference.

To host the world conference on intelligent transportation is of far-reaching significance for thoroughly implementing the relevant requirements of the outline for building a strong transportation country, displaying the achievements of China's intelligent transportation development, deepening international exchanges and cooperation in the field of intelligent transportation, promoting the application of modern information technology such as artificial intelligence in the field of transportation, and promoting the development of China's intelligent transportation industry and the new generation of transportation information service industry, Better meet the needs of the people for a better life.

According to the introduction of relevant parties of the Suzhou Municipal People's Government, in order to prepare for this conference, Suzhou mainly carried out work in four directions:

Create a number of "visible, tangible and effective" demonstration projects

Promote the overall improvement of transportation management and service level in Suzhou, Jiangsu and the Yangtze River Delta.

Drive a number of industries

Strive to gather a large number of leading enterprises in intelligent transportation at home and abroad in the next three years, and promote the development of related industrial clusters such as artificial intelligence, intelligent driving and intelligent equipment.
